Acupuncture is a technique where a thin, solid needle is inserted into the skin at specific points on the body. It is a traditional medical treatment originating in China where it has been used for 2500 years. In North America, its use has increased dramatically for treating a variety of conditions. University-based research studies are showing acupuncture is of significant benefit in treating many different injuries and disabilities. Aura Physio Clinic only uses sterile, single-use needles for every acupuncture application. If you are pregnant or are a haemophiliac, acupuncture requires extra caution. Possible side effects include minimal bleeding at the site of insertion and slight bruising.
